Promo-LEX Association announces the third edition of the Summer School on Human Rights. The event is part of the Promo-LEX Association Human Rights & Civic Education Program. The program aims to promote democratic values and norms and international human rights standards through non-formal education.
Summer school aims to educate 25 young people from the Transnistrian Region on human rights and their vindication.
Summer School will be carried out with the financial support provided by the U.S. Embassy in Moldova.

Period: August 17 – 22, 2009
Location: Resort „La Popas”, village Cocieri / Moldova
Participants
25 young people (aged 18-30 years) from the Transnistrian region of Moldova. Summer school participants are not required to poses a certain level of training in human rights area, although they must have a strong motivation and interest for human rights.
Working language (Romanian or Russian) will be set depending on the preferences of the majority of participants selected for participation. Participants will be notified in advance about the working language.
Training Program
The Summer School will include 2 modules: theory and practice.
Module 1 will focus on general concepts of human rights, means and mechanisms for human rights protection , and classification of human rights.
Module 2 will include practical activities like 4 games simulation focused on human rights topics.
Costs
All expenses related to summer school participation such as travel costs, meals, living arrangements will be covered by organizers.
Certificate of participation
At the end of the program, all participants will be awarded certificates of participation.
Deadline for applications – July 31, 2009. Applications can be filled in in Romanian or Russian and submitted via email or fax (contact info indicated below).
